Canada Pure Land Learning Association was founded in May 1998 by Venerable Kin Yu with over 20 followers. We abide by our vision consistent with the Five Sutras of the Pure Land Tradition, to learn and practice according to Amitabha Buddha’s past aspirations and deeds as the Bhikkhu Dharmakara.

Our Misson
We strive to ensure that every practitioner here is provided an authentic and complete experience in the learning, reflection, and meditative cultivation of Mahayana Buddhism, and to strengthen the practitioner in the aspiration to be reborn in the Western Paradise and ultimately achieve Buddhahood.

the Western Paradise
Even more, we hope to bring the Buddha’s spirit of compassion and love into our own lives and communities. We engage in charity efforts to help the elderly, the sick, and others in need, and work to contribute to the free, equal, and harmonious development of a multicultural society of different faiths and ethnicities. We maintain close contact with other branches of the Pure Land Learning Association across the globe, including those in Asia and Oceania, to promote the Pure Land Buddhist culture around the world.
